I love Personality Portraits, and it’s not just because they’re adorable. They give kids the space to be themselves, so images will look and feel true to them. Let’s help you get ready! I’ve put together a simple guide on how to prepare for your child’s personality portrait session, along with answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

Unlike traditional school photos, personality portraits are all about capturing who your child is right now. With a simple background and minimal distractions, the focus stays on their natural expressions and unique character. The wide eyes. The stubborn pout. The soulful stare. I often hear from parents, “I wish I could bottle up this age.” I’ve got you.
These sessions are for children only. Kids of all ages are welcome, from newborns and toddlers to teens. One timeslot covers all siblings in your immediate household. Personality Portraits are open to the public!
These sessions are just for kids. Parents won’t be on camera, but siblings are encouraged to jump in together.

Each session lasts just 5 minutes. I know that sounds quick, but we can capture a lot in that time! The short format helps avoid smile fatigue and keeps the experience fun and relaxed. I focus on genuine expressions of each child, and I always make time for a sibling group photo.
When considering how to prepare for your child’s personality portrait session, think simple, comfortable, and timeless. This keeps the focus on their expressions!

Please plan to arrive 5 minutes early. This allows your child a moment to settle in, take off their coat, and tend to any last-minute hair or outfit adjustments. Because sessions run back-to-back, we’re unable to extend your time if you arrive late.

Please kindly let me know ASAP if you can no longer attend, whether due to illness or an unforeseen change. Session fees are non-refundable, but we’d be happy to offer your spot to a family on our waitlist to ensure we maximize our fundraising for the designated local organization.
Within 1 week, you’ll receive an email with a link to your private online gallery (check email folders and spam if you don’t see it). From there, you can select one favorite image to download, or upgrade to the full gallery and keep them all. A percentage of all proceeds, including gallery upgrades, benefits the designated local organization.
